Six bystanders were wounded when three officers fired a total of seven rounds at Jordan Waddy in the early morning hours of July 17, 2022.
DENVER — The man who Denver Police officers shot, also injuring multiple bystanders, after he pointed a gun at police in Lower Downtown in 2022 has been sentenced.
Jordan Waddy, 23, was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in prison, followed by a year of parole.
Waddy pleaded guilty Jan. 12 to a single count of conspiracy to commit possession of a weapon by a previous offender, which was an added count. Four other counts against him were dismissed as a result of the plea deal.

Six bystanders were wounded when three police officers fired a total of seven rounds at Waddy in the early morning hours of July 17, 2022.
Before the shots were fired, Denver Police said, officers saw a fight beginning between two men in front of the Larimer Beer Hall. One of the men, later identified as Waddy, was the “aggressor” and struck another man, police said. That officer also reported that Waddy had a gun.
Body camera video showed officers walking along Larimer Street. Police say they tried to stop Waddy, who walked onto Larimer Street. He took his hands out of his pockets and put them in the air as he walked back onto the sidewalk. Waddy walked toward the crowd gathered outside Larimer Beer Hall and away from officers.
Denver Police said Waddy then pointed a gun at three officers, who each fired at him. One officer fired four rounds, and the other fired twice.
In January 2023, a grand jury returned a 14-count indictment against Brandon Ramos, one of the officers who fired at Waddy. Ramos pleaded guilty Jan. 23, 2024, to a single court of third-degree assault and was immediately sentenced to probation.
