The three-time Super Bowl champion has been facing criticism for comments he made during a commencement address last weekend.

WASHINGTON — The Los Angeles Chargers schedule release video had a not-so-subtle jab at the recent controversial comments made by Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker during a graduation speech.

The video, set in the world of the “Sims” video game, was filled with all sorts of references to the Chargers’ opponents in the upcoming season.

But during the credits, the video showed Butker cooking and cleaning in the kitchen.

Last weekend in Kansas, the three-time Super Bowl champion gave a commencement address at Benedictine College in which he congratulated the women receiving degrees, but then said most were probably more excited to get married and have children. He also also railed against Pride month, President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion and Biden’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you,” Butker said.

“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother,” he said.

Butker said during the address that his wife embraced “one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker.“

While the Chiefs declined to comment on Butker’s commencement address, the NFL told PEOPLE his views differ from the league’s.

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, told PEOPLE in a statement. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
