Blofish Sushi said the burglars were able to gain access to their business after breaking open their exterior lockbox.
BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder Police Department is asking the public for help identifying a group of people who burglarized 10 businesses.
Curtis Gardner owns Blofish Sushi, one of the 10 businesses police said have been burglarized.
Gardner said his business was broken into a week before Thanksgiving.
“Here they unlocked the door, came in, ripped away my register, took a bunch of empty gift cards and took off,” said Gardner.
Boulder Police said the burglars were removing the lockboxes and breaking them open to access the business key inside.
Investigators said the crimes occurred on different days of the week during the overnight hours. In all instances, the thieves stole the cash drawer and opened it at a different unknown location.
“My margins are really tight. I buy the best ingredients I can get and they aren’t the cheapest, and you know $500 is a big block of tuna…a week before Thanksgiving….I don’t understand the mentality,” said Gardner.
Boulder Police have said the burglars are described as three males about 5’10” wearing hoodies and using what looked like socks to cover their hands.
Gardner said there was not a lot of money in the cash register but when you own local, every dollar counts.
“This is my business — this is how I feed my kids,” he said.
Boulder Police said the burglaries occurred at businesses on Pearl Street and Arapahoe Avenue between Oct. 29 and Nov. 14.
Anyone with any information about these individuals or these crimes is asked to contact Detective Snyder at SnyderJ@bouldercolorado.gov or 303-441-3386 regarding case 24-11438.
