Police said parents should be aware about underage drinking, fighting and illegal driving at three parks in Boulder.

BOULDER, Colo. — Police in Boulder warned parents last week about large gatherings of teenagers at parks.

The Boulder Police Department (BPD) said meetups of teens at three parks are “quickly becoming unsafe.”

According to BPD, officers conducted patrols on May 30 at Scott Carpenter Park, Eben G. Fine Park and North Boulder Park. Officers issued a dozen tickets to teens for consuming alcohol underage, fighting and driving illegally.

“While these might seem like low-level offenses, the sheer crowds you can see in these videos have the potential for such crimes to quickly become even more serious,” the police department shared on social media.

“It can make a difference if parents think their children are going to one type of gathering when it’s actually something else. Our goal is to raise awareness to help keep everyone safe,” BPD posted.
