Police said Kyle Bertsch is considered armed and dangerous.

WINDSOR, Colo. — Police in northern Colorado are searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon.

The Windsor Police Department said just before 3 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of Gyrfalcon Court.

Witnesses reported that someone in a pickup truck had fired four to seven rounds at a building in the area. No one was hurt. A shelter-in-place was briefly issued for the area.

Shortly after that, police said, two people traveling near Weld County Road 23 and Colorado Highway 392 reported a man in a similar vehicle brandishing a gun at them.

They were able to give police the license plate number, which came back to 39-year-old Kyle Bertsch of Windsor.

Police believe Bertsch has since left the immediate area. He’s described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 195 pounds with red hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving a maroon 2017 Ford F-350 pickup with Colorado license plate ARD 833.

Bertsch is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to stay away and call 911 immediately.
