Sketch shows suspect in attempted abduction near Parker school

A boy reported that a man who was about 50 years old with gray hair in a black Audi had approached him near Frontier Valley Elementary School.

PARKER, Colo. — Parker Police on Thursday released a sketch of a suspect wanted in the attempted abduction of a child near an elementary school on May 8.

The Parker Police Department said a boy ran to Frontier Valley Elementary School and told a staff member that a man had approached and started talking to him about 7:50 a.m. near the 23000 block of Bay Oaks Avenue, about a 10-minute walk from the school.

The boy said the man had gray hair and was in a four-door black Audi with Colorado plates, tinted windows and rack. Later in the day, police said they believe the suspect is about 50 years old and has a mustache.

The student was not harmed, police said.

On Thursday, police released this sketch of the suspect:


Police asked residents who live near Frontier Valley Elementary and Cimarron Middle School to check their security cameras for video of the attempted abduction, the suspect or the victim between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
