The shooting reportedly injured one person, and police have not given a description of a suspect who fled in a car.

WASHINGTON — Police in Toronto are investigating a shooting near the home of rapper Drake that injured one person, according to multiple media reports.

Gunfire was reported just after 2 a.m. near the corner of Bayview and Lawrence avenues in Toronto, which was later confirmed to be near the home of Drake, whose birth name is Aubrey Drake Graham.

One person was injured by gunfire and taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to reporting from CP24

The Toronto-based TV Station reported that patrol cars could be seen outside the rapper’s mansion Tuesday morning after the shooting.

Police confirmed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but didn’t provide a description of the shooter or the car.

Police confirmed to City News Toronto that Drake himself was not the person shot during the incident. He is reportedly cooperating with police investigating the matter.

The shooting comes in the middle of a public feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The pair have been posting diss tracks about the other in a conflict that has drawn fans into confrontations online defending their preferred rapper.

The tracks have quickly devolved into vicious attacks, drawing comparisons to the East Coast vs. West Coast feud in the 1990s.

Drake is a five-time Grammy winner, and is considered one of the best-selling musical artists in the world. He’s sold over 170 million records and has produced 13 number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
