Five schools were placed on secure status Wednesday morning after a student reported that a man with gray hair in a black Audi had approached them.
PARKER, Colo. — Police investigated a possible attempted kidnapping outside a Parker elementary school on Wednesday morning.
Five schools were on secure status after the incident near Frontier Valley Elementary School, at 23919 Canterberry Pkwy. The secure status was later lifted.
The Parker Police Department said about 9 a.m., a student ran to the school and told a staff member that a man had approached and started talking to them near the 23000 block of Bay Oakes Avenue, about a 10-minute walk from the school.
The student said the man had gray hair and was in a black Audi. Later in the day, police said they believe the suspect is 50 years old and has a moustache.
The student was not harmed, police said.
According to Douglas County Schools, the five schools that were placed on secure status Wednesday morning were:
- Legend High School
- Cimarron Middle School
- Frontier Valley Elementary School
- Pioneer Elementary
- Iron Horse Elementary
Investigators completed their canvass of the neighborhood and were continuing to look for the vehicle involved, police posted to the social platform X.
