PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Scottie Scheffler just added another trophy to the trophy case.

He was already esteemed as one of the world’s finest, further solidified his legacy on Sunday, the finale of The PLAYERS Championship. He achieved a historic feat by becoming the first player in 50 years of The Players Championship to secure back-to-back victories, while also matching the largest comeback and the lowest closing round ever recorded by a winner.

The comeback speaks for itself. Scheffler made his way back to the top from behind.

Scheffler’s remarkable performance included holing out for eagle from the fourth fairway and tallying four birdies in a five-hole sequence around the turn. His stellar play led to an impressive eight-under 64, culminating in a thrilling one-shot victory that remained uncertain until the very last putt dropped.
