Officials in Arizona released a mug shot of Rudy Giuliani in connection with his indictment on charges that he conspired to overturn the 2020 election.

PHOENIX — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani made a stop in Phoenix on Monday to post bond in the ‘fake electors’ case, where he faces nine felony charges stemming from his role in trying to overturn former President Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election.

Giuliani has already pleaded not guilty to the charges, as he appeared virtually in a Phoenix courtroom on May 21.

During that hearing, a judge required Giuliani to post a secured appearance bond of $10,000 and appear in Arizona by June 20 to be booked in the case. That is why Giuliani was in Arizona on Monday.

Maricopa County Superior Court confirmed that Giuliani came to the Clerk’s Office Criminal File Counter to post his bond at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

The May 21 hearing came just four days after Giuliani was served with a notice of the indictment against him while he was walking to his car after a celebration for his 80th birthday in Florida.

Giuliani’s trial is scheduled to begin in October.

After Giuliani posted bond, 12News journalist Brahm Resnik spoke with him about the case. A transcript of their conversation is below.

Brahm Resnik: Thank you for talking with us. What were you doing here today?

Rudy Giuliani: I had to, I had to pay, the, post bail. Post a bond.

BR: How much was that?

RG: Yeah, and I did that. And that was it.

BR: Do you have any regrets about what you did in Arizona after the election?

RG: Oh my goodness. No.

RG: I’m very, very proud of it.

BR: Proud of it? Proud of trying to overturn the vote?

RG: Are you on one side? Just one side? That’s a hell of a way to ask.

BR: That’s that’s the allegation against you, isn’t it, sir?

RG: No, but I’m presumed innocent, aren’t I?

RG: But you don’t seem to be presuming me innocent. You seem to me to have a prejudiced viewpoint. You seem to have a prejudiced viewpoint. That’s a heck of a prejudiced viewpoint for someone that’s an American.

BR: Well, okay, you said, your answer was, heck no. Why not?

RG: Because there was a substantial amount of vote fraud that went on here. That was covered up. Probably one of the biggest conspiracies in American history. And I think that’s coming out over and over again. They just discovered 275,000 missing ballots in Georgia. I think you’re gonna find that just like Russian collusion was a hoax, this election was a hoax.

*Editor’s note: 12News is working to verify Giuliani’s claim about the missing ballots being found in Georgia*

BR: It’s been three years. We haven’t found anything, haven’t seen anything. Many people have tried.

RG: Well, very powerful people are covering it up.

RG: The President of the United States.

BR: How would he know what’s going on in Maricopa County?

RG: Unfortunately, you’re just on the one side of it. Because (inaudible)

BR: I’m repeating what’s in the indictment, sir.

RG: But the indictment is only an allegation. You’re just on one side of it. And you’re unfortunate biased coverage has given us a fraudulent president. You should be ashamed yourself. Thank you.

BR: Where’s the evidence, sir? Where’s the evidence that the election was stolen? Where’s the evidence the election was stolen, sir?

RG: If we’re all honest people, you can see it. For people who are operating under a kind of democratic brainwashing and fraud, you refuse to see it.

BR: It’s the crime of the century as it’s been called, where’s the evidence?

RG: The evidence is abundant. It’s a tremendous amount of evidence.

BR: Do you believe you’ll be acquitted, sir?

RG: I believe the case will be dismissed as unconstitutional. This is a complete misuse of the criminal process to interfere with the 2024 election.
