MARCO SILVA is believed to have a release clause worth £8.6million in his Fulham contract.

The Cottagers boss, 46, signed a new deal in October until the end of the 2026 season.

It came a few months after the Portuguese snubbed interest from Saudi Pro League sides Al-Hilal and Al Ahli to stay in West London.

Now Silva could attract interest again this summer.

That is after another impressive season of guiding Fulham to Premier League safety, which comes two years after taking them up from the Championship.

The Portuguese coach also led the Cottagers to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, where they suffered defeat to eventual winners Liverpool.

Interested clubs – which have previously included the likes of West Ham – will be on red alert with the news.

And that set fee will allow them to talk to the former Everton chief should it be met.

Fulham are 13th following Tuesday’s defeat at Nottingham Forest, 17 points above the relegation zone with seven games left to play.

After taking charge at Estoril in his homeland back in 2011, the former right-back has embarked on a much-travelled career.

Following three years there, in which he led them to top-flight promotion, he moved to Sporting Lisbon and lifted the Taca de Portugal trophy.

However, he was appointed the successor of countryman Vítor Pereira at Olympiacos on a two-year contract.

He guided them to a record-breaking 17-match winning run in the Greek league on their run to being crowned champions.

But, despite that title joy, he quit after just a year due to personal reasons but within months he found himself in the Premier League.

Silva was appointed Hull City manager in January 2017 with the Tigers bottom of the table.

He guided them to the League Cup semi-final but he was unable to keep them up, which led to his resignation.

Days after his departure he was named Watford boss, but that November things took a turn for the worse at Vicarage Road.

After a bright start, he was heavily linked with the vacancy at Everton, and results dipped with just five points from 30 Prem matches.

Silva was sacked in January 2018 as Watford cited the “unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival” that caused “significant deterioration in both focus and results”.

He was confirmed as manager of Everton on 31 May 2018, penning a three-year contract, and secured an eighth-placed finish during his first season.

But he was sacked in December 2019 after a 5-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby left them in the relegation zone.

He had to wait until the following summer for another opportunity.

That was when Fulham came calling following their relegation, which resulted in him securing promotion at the first time of asking.
