The Mountain Vista-Arapahoe boys lacrosse rivalry reignited Friday night at LPS Centennial Stadium.
Arapahoe came in ranked No. 1 in the Class 5A rankings with a perfect 14-0 record on the season. But the Golden Eagles changed that, dealing the Warriors their first loss of the season, 10-7.
“They’re a No. 1 team but I don’t really know if they were,” Ryder Goldhammer said. “It’s a rivalry for sure. We came into it super hot. We were ready.”
Mountain Vista and Arapahoe have accounted for the past three state championship titles (Vista in 2021, 2023/Arapahoe in 2022). The teams will likely see each other in the playoffs — the next step for both teams who wrapped up the regular season Friday.
