The sheriff’s office said Jennifer Hearn was last seen with her dog, an Irish setter, on Upper River Road near Triangle Peak.
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. — The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating a woman who was reported missing after leaving for a hike on Sunday.
Jennifer Hearn was last seen on Upper River Road near the Triangle Peak Trail at around 11 a.m. Hearn was possibly wearing jean shorts with a green t-shirt or long sleeve shirt, the sheriff’s office said. She is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. She has gray hair and brown eyes, the missing person’s bulletin stated.
Hearn was believed to be hiking with her dog, a brown Irish setter named Tawny.
According to AllTrails.com, Triangle Peak, which is between Basalt and Aspen, is considered a challenging route due to steepness of the trail and sharp rocks. The out-and-back trail is just under five miles and hikers will gain more than 1,800 feet in elevation along the route.
Anyone who may have seen Hearn or her dog is asked to the call the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office at 970-920-5300.
