In a post to social media Sunday, the Texans said that Dell was wounded Saturday night. He’s been released from the hospital.
HOUSTON — Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was wounded in a shooting in Florida, according to the team.
The team posted to social media Sunday, saying the shooting happened last night in Sanford, Florida, which is near Orlando.
Dell has been released from the hospital and is in good spirits, according to the Texans. They also said they’re in contact with Dell and his family.
At this point, we don’t know the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The team said it would release more details when appropriate.
Dell, who played in college at the University of Houston, had his rookie season with the Texans cut short by injury. He’s originally from Daytona Beach, Florida, which is around 40 miles from Sanford.
This is a developing story. We’ll post updates as we get them.
