Chris Hawkins, 41, was advised of the charges against him in court Monday.
TELLER COUNTY, Colo. — The leader of a fire department in Teller County has been arrested on domestic violence charges.
Chris Hawkins, 41, is the fire chief at Four Mile Fire Protection District in Florissant and has served with the department since February 2022, according to their website.
Court records show Hawkins was arrested last week in connection with an incident that happened in January. Charges include harassment, obstructing telephone service and false emergency-fake crime. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
Teller County Combined Court confirmed to 9NEWS that Hawkins was advised on Monday of domestic violence charges.
The Teller County Sheriff’s Office declined to comment because it is an ongoing case.
Hawkins’ next court appearance is scheduled for April 22.
