The Denver Broncos announced season ticket prices will be increasing for the 2024-2025 season.
DENVER — The Denver Broncos have announced season ticket prices will be increasing for the 2024-2025 season.
That announcement was sent in an email to season ticket holders Thursday night, detailing an 8% increase across the stadium.
“It was the first time I can remember getting that invoice and thinking, ‘Ugh, do I really want to do this?’” season ticket holder Jason Ault said. “It was the first time that I at least cringed a little bit.”
Ault says his tickets are going from $1,400 a pair up to $1,640 a pair, an increase he wasn’t expecting after prices already increased last year.
“At some point, we’ve got to see some wins,” Ault said. “And there’s a long waiting list and the Broncos can say, ‘Well you know what, we have 100,000 people who will take your seats,’ and there’s probably some truth to that. But at some point, they’ve got to start winning.”
Dr. Kelly Evans, an assistant professor of Sports Management at MSU Denver, says the Broncos have little to lose with the decision.
She says ticket prices pay for player salaries, stadium improvements, and more.
“It really does come back to supply and demand,” Evans said. “There is a huge wait list for Broncos season ticket holders, and if there’s demand, they have every right to charge those prices, and if they will pay them that’s their prerogative.”
Ault says he’ll stomach the increase this year, but hopes the investment can translate to a better product on the field.
“The Broncos will be good at some point in the future, and I know if I give up my tickets, I’ll never get them back, and that’s partly why I keep them,” Ault said.
