The Buffaloes are a No. 5 seed and will play No. 12 Drake in the first round.
BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Colorado women’s basketball team now knows its NCAA Tournament fate.
Colorado drew a No. 5 seed and will face No. 12 Drake in the first round, which will be held in Manhattan, Kansas, after No. 4 Kansas State was selected to host opening-round games.
Once projected as a top seed, Colorado went through a difficult stretch to close the season — losing six of its last eight games and bowing out in the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Tournament in a double-overtime loss to Oregon State.
The Buffs roll into the NCAA Tournament with a 22-9 overall record. The Bulldogs went 29-5.
