AURORA, Colorado — A teenager is in the hospital after he was severely injured in a shooting in Aurora, police said.
The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. Friday in a field near the intersection of South Hayesmount Road and East Jewell Avenue, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said. Police have not arrested anyone in connection to the shooting, but they said investigators do not believe there is a danger to the public.
No further information was shared about the victim or the state of his injuries.
