The crash happened Wednesday morning near Evans Avenue and South University Boulevard in Denver.
DENVER — A driver was cited for careless driving after a crash Wednesday morning that sent three pedestrians to the hospital, according to the Denver Police Department.
The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Evans Avenue and South University Boulevard, next to the University of Denver campus. It was unknown whether the people who were hit are associated with the university.
According to Denver Police, the pedestrians had the right of way when the driver drove across the crosswalk signal and struck them. All three were taken to the hospital. Two of them were seriously hurt and all three are expected to survive, a Denver Police spokesman said.
The driver remained at the scene and was cited for careless driving resulting in injury to a vulnerable road user.
