DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Two people possibly connected to two business burglaries are in custody after a search early Tuesday near Castle Rock.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Castle Rock Police were searching for the suspects on the property of Waverton Ranch, north of the Meadows subdivision in Castle Rock. The sheriff’s office said two people ran from a stolen vehicle and were believed to be in that area west of Highway 85.
The stolen vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office, is connected to two business burglaries.
The suspects were believed to be armed, the sheriff’s office said. No information was provided about the initial burglaries, however, in a Facebook post, Castle Rock police said the suspects were the subject of a CodeRED alert sent to residents.
Shortly before 8 a.m., Castle Rock Police said the suspects were in custody, but there was still a large police presence in the area. No other details were released.
