The Vision Hills Fire started Friday afternoon near Jerry Murphy Road and Vision Hills Parkway.
PUEBLO, Colo. — Evacuations were ordered for some homes around a grass fire that sparked Friday afternoon in Pueblo, according to the sheriff’s office.
The evacuations were ordered at 1 p.m. for homes within a half-mile of 1945 Overton Road, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said. A reception center for evacuated residents was set up at the Pueblo County Parks Office, 1650 Cooper Place. Enter off of Roselawn Road.
Multiple fire crews responded just after noon Friday. The Vision Hills Fire was burning near Jerry Murphy Road and Vision Hills Parkway.
The size of the fire was unknown, though smoke and flames were visible on a Colorado Department of Transportation traffic camera a few miles from the scene.
