Police are looking for a suspect after the crashes Wednesday morning at a King Soopers at 2400 Youngfield St.
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — Two shoplifting suspects at a Wheat Ridge King Soopers crashed into three vehicles, including a police patrol car, while fleeing the scene on Wednesday, police said.
Wheat Ridge Police said on social media that they took a female suspect into custody, while a male suspect ran to the Clear Creek trailhead. Police are currently searching the area for him.
The incident started when officers responded to a shoplifting call at the King Soopers at 3400 Youngfield Street. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect rammed into a patrol vehicle and two other cars in the parking lot, police said.
No officers were hurt. One other person was injured and taken to a hospital.
Officers caught the vehicle at West 42nd Avenue and Youngfield Street, where they arrested one of the suspects who was taken to a hospital. Police released a photo of a damaged black SUV from that location.
