The order was issued for the Larkspur area as deputies search for Luis Fernando Cerda-Regaldo, 27, a car theft suspect who escaped custody in Weld County.
LARKSPUR, Colo. — Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter-in-place order Friday while deputies looked for a potentially armed and dangerous suspect who escaped from Weld County custody.
The shelter-in-place order was issued for the Larkspur area of Fox Farm and Spruce Mountain while they search for Luis Fernando Cerda-Regaldo, 27, who escaped after he was arrested in connection to a car theft.
He was last seen wearing black pants, a black shirt with cutoff sleeves and a black baseball cap.
He had been arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction and attempting to influence law enforcement, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone who sees Cerda-Regaldo is advised to stay away and call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
