Man Utd women friendly cancelled
Man Utd women have seen their behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly against Liverpool cancelled.
The club confirmed the fixture, due to take place today, had been canned due to the limited availability of the Liverpool squad, with some of their players sustaining injuries in summer international matches.
Liverpool boss Matt Beard said: “I’d like to thank the staff and players at Manchester United for their understanding and, of course, apologise to them for the disruption.
“I’d like to thank the staff and players at Manchester United for their understanding and, of course, apologise to them for the disruption,” said Liverpool boss Matt Beard.
“Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, we’ve picked up a number of injuries to players who were involved in the international window during the close season.
“This has limited the availability of the squad, so it’s best that we take this opportunity to have a bit of a reset.”
Marc Skinner’s Red Devils still have three pre-season games remaining.
