United keen on Nice defender
Manchester United are considering a move for defender Jean-Clair Todibo from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Nice.
The Red Devils want to sign a right-sided centre-back in January as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his defence.
Man Utd made an approach to sign Todibo from the Ligue 1 side in the summer, but the 23-year-old later revealed he “didn’t want to make the wrong choice” having established himself at Nice.
Chelsea have since been linked with the defender as a replacement for the ageing Thiago Silva, 39.
But with Ten Hag keen to add competition at the back, a return for the Frenchman is being discussed at Old Trafford.
Supercomputer predicts Champions League chances
A supercomputer has predicted the outcome of this year’s Champions League.
BETSiE, the computer built by Bettingexpert, measures the date to determine the probability of different teams winning the competition.
And in its latest run isn’t pleasant reading for Manchester United fans with their chances of success looking bleak.
The Red Devils have LESS than a 1% chance of winning the Champions League and only a 31% chance of making it out of the groups.
Hojlund having ‘sleepless nights’ says Shearer
Alan Shearer has said he thinks that Rasmus Hojlund will be having “sleepless nights” over not scoring in the Premier League yet.
The £72m man is yet to find the back of the net in the league, but he leads the goalscoring list in the Champions League this season with five goals.
And Shearer reckons it must be hard for him to not be able to translate it in the league, but admitted he feels sorry for the Denmark international.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, he said: “I feel a bit sorry for him. He shouldn’t be in the position he is in, in terms of the fee that’s been paid for him and the pressure that is on him.
“He should be one that is in, then out, using him as a substitute and starting him here and there. They should have a big hitter in there so I do have a bit of sympathy for him.
“I do see that there is a potential goal-scorer in there. He will be having sleepless nights because of what is happening in front of goal in the Premier League. It looks like he’ll be injured now with his hamstring, but there’s definitely something there.”
Ferdinand unsure on sporting director
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is expected to complete a deal for a 25 per cent stake at Manchester United, is eyeing Crystal Palace’s Dougie Freedman as a potential hire, according to the Daily Star.
But Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand isn’t confident that a move for Freedman would be the right decision for the club.
His [Freedman] name has come out of left field. No disrespect, but I don’t remember anyone saying ‘wow, look at what Palace are doing’. Paul Mitchell, I get it, he has a history of doing good things and the same with Michael Edwards, Julian Ward at Liverpool.
They have a body of successful work that is recognised, so has Dan Ashworth with England and then Brighton and now at Newcastle.
You can understand that but nobody says that about Palace. (Michael) Olise, (Eberechi) Eze and (Marc) Guehi are three players you look at that have been good signings but for everyone one of those, there are others that haven’t worked.
They don’t have a reputation that makes you understand why United would go for him.

Juventus enquire about Sancho
Juventus have reportedly made contact with Manchester United over a potential January deal for Jadon Sancho.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants are keen on a move for the Man Utd outcast.
Sancho hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since August and has been in a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag.
It is said that Juve are keen on a loan deal, but Man Utd will hold out to see what permanent offers they receive.
Eriksen out for a month
Christian Eriksen is expected to spend a month on the sidelines following his injury against Luton.
The Man Utd midfielder has withdrawn from the Denmark squad for the international break alongside teammate Rasmus Hojlund.
But Hojlund’s knock is understood to be far less serious and he is likely to return to action much sooner.
