Hammers ‘keen on Wan-Bissaka’

West Ham are reportedly interested in Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Football Transfers suggest the Hammers could even launch a January bid for the uncapped Englishman, 25.

Wan-Bissaka has largely been sidelined by Diogo Dalot for the Red Devils this term.

It comes as the future of 31-year-old Czech defender Vladimír Coufal at West Ham appears uncertain.

‘Diogo lacks character Utd need’

Old Trafford legend Paul Scholes doubts Diogo Dalot is “good enough” for “big games” – because his character might be lacking.

Dalot, 24, was criticised after the 10-man Red Devils slumped 4-3 at FC Copenhagen last week.

The defender has mainly played in his usual right-side position this season but has also covered for injuries on the left.

However, despite that versatility, ex-England midfielder Scholes told the Webby and O’Neill YouTube channel: “I’m not sure if the right-back’s good enough, Dalot, when it comes to the big games.

“I’m not sure his character is big enough to handle the big games.”

But Scholes added: “[Aaron] Wan-Bissaka can do it defensively not a problem.

“Going forward. he has improved, don’t get me wrong. I just think the balance of the team has been a little bit wrong.”

Utd urged to get new strip for ‘Scotland’s R9’

Seven goals in seven games for Scotland has cemented Scott McTominay’s place as this campaign’s hero.

There’s no doubt the man they call McSauce has developed an extra spring in his step when he pulls on the dark blue.

He could even have more had he not been harshly denied a stunning free-kick against Spain.

But his equaliser in Georgia equalled a national team record with of seven goals in a qualifying campaign – sharing top spot with Steven Fletcher and team-mate John McGinn.

But his form for the Tartan Army hasn’t quite been matched at Manchester United – and Red Devils fans want to see changes made to take better advantage.

One even called for a change of SHIRT from the club’s historic red while others compared Old Trafford’s defensive midfielder to Ronaldo.

One Red Devils fan said: “I think Man United should design a new jersey that resembles Scotland own specifically for McTominay because he turns to McTerminator whenever he’s playing for Scotland.”

Red Devils linked to Mancini

United are keen on Roma centre-back Gianluca Mancini.

That’s the claim from Italian outlet Il Romanista as the Red Devils’ troubles in defence continue.

Ex-Atalanta star Mancini, 27, has won 11 caps.

Il Romanista say Jose Mourinho’s Roma value him at £27million-plus.

Jadon tipped for Saudi approach

Saudi clubs are ready to target Jadon Sancho in January.

United’s outcast attacker has also been linked with major European clubs such as Juventus and old team Borussia Dortmund.

And it’s believed an exit – on loan or permanent – is more likely in the next transfer window than the England winger staying following his fall-out with boss Erik ten Hag.

Saudi Pro League clubs sniffed around for Sancho in the summer to no avail.

And it’s thought they will try to persuade the 23-year-old such a transfer could benefit his career, even though most leading players to move to the middle east do so in their 30s.

Becks calls for manager ‘stability’ under Ratcliffe

David Beckham believes managerial “stability” is the key to Manchester United success as Sir Jim Ratcliffe prepares to complete his 25% investment in the club.

Current boss Erik ten Hag is under fire and fighting to overturn a mediocre start to the season – but Old Trafford legend Becks dreams of an era like Alex Ferguson’s glittering reign from 1986 to 2013.

The former England skipper told Sportstar: “I am a true Manchester United fan who only wants the good for our club and only wants us to get back to top level again.

“But that has to start at the top. It has to start with ownership.

“We have talked about the change that should happen. I have been very vocal about Manchester United needing a change. When Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down in 2013, there was always going to be a dip. You can’t stay at the top level.

“But we stayed put for the amount of years because we had the stability of having someone like Sir Alex Ferguson, our manager.

“Now we have had quite a few managers over the last 10 years and that is unfortunate because it brings the stability that we had with Sir Alex Ferguson, you don’t have that anymore. It shows in the way we play.”
