Police said it does not appear the 36-year-old man’s primary or reserve parachutes deployed before he fell to his death.
LONGMONT, Colo. — Longmont Police and Fire are investigating the death of a skydiver on Saturday.
Crews responded around 3:27 p.m. south of Vance Brand Municipal Airport. Police said the man was skydiving with Mile High Skydiving.
He was wearing a wingsuit when he died, and it does not appear his primary or reserve parachutes deployed before he hit the ground, a police spokesperson said.
Police said the victim was a 36-year-old man who was a resident of a mountain community near Denver area. His identity is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of next of kin by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified but did not respond to the scene. The FAA will assist police and the coroner’s office with the investigation.
