Police said the man who shot the victim stayed at the scene and has not been arrested.

DENVER — One person is dead after being shot in what police believe was a road rage incident in Lower Downtown Denver Friday.

The Denver Police Department (DPD) tweeted just after 5 p.m. that they were investigating a shooting in the area of Park Avenue and Wazee Street, a block east of Coors Field.

The victim, a man, was transported to the hospital, where he later died. His identity has not been released.

Police said the shooting appears to be the result of a road rage incident involving two drivers. The man who shot the victim stayed at the scene and has not been arrested, according to police.

Outbound Park Avenue is closed at Blake Street for the investigation, police said, and will stay closed for several hours.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
