The fire broke out Saturday morning at a home near Kings Valley Drive and Highway 285 west of Conifer.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — At least two people were injured after a house caught fire Saturday morning in Jefferson County.

The fire was reported at a home in the 12200 block of South Styve Road, which is just north of Highway 285 and just west of Kings Valley Drive west of Conifer.

The two people injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said. Their conditions were unknown.

The fire spread to the nearby trees and grasses, JCSO said. The wildland portion of the fire was contained to around a half-acre, the sheriff’s office said. The home appears to be a total loss, officials said.

Explosions were heard coming from the house fire and the sheriff’s office said that was likely related to propane tanks exploding.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said.

9NEWS has a crew headed to the scene and we will update this article as more information becomes available.
