Deputies said Henry Twitchell, who lives in El Jebel, was last seen in Carbondale on Jan. 4.
EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — Deputies from three Colorado counties are searching for a man who hasn’t been seen since the day his car slid off a highway earlier this month, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said Henry Twitchell, who lives in El Jebel, was last seen in Carbondale on Jan. 4. Around 6 p.m. that day, his car slid off Highway 13 about 10 miles south of Meeker, the sheriff’s office said. Twitchell was not there when deputies arrived, and deputies found a single set of footprints leading from the car to the highway, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies have conducted “extensive searches” in the area, the sheriff’s office said.
Twitchell’s cell phone was last pinged early the next morning, on Jan. 5, along Highway 13 in Garfield County, about 14 miles south of the crash scene, deputies said.

Twitchell is described as between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He has blue eyes, short brown hair and no tattoos. Deputies said he is likely wearing the same green puffy jacket as seen in the above photo of him fishing. Although he has facial hair in these photos, he is last known to be clean-shaven, the sheriff’s office said.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-479-2201, the Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office at 970-878-9600, or the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office at 970-625-8095.
