More than 4,500 spaces will be closed in the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot for around six months, Denver International Airport said.
DENVER — Thousands of parking spaces at Denver International Airport will be closed for about six months while repairs and improvements are made.
DIA officials said more than 4,500 parking spots in the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot will be closed off starting on April 7. The parking spaces are in Sections 3 and 4, DIA said in a release. Shuttle shelters in those sections will also be affected. Shuttle shelters in sections 1 and 2 will remain open.
About 4,500 spaces will remain open on the north side of the lot, DIA said.
According to DIA, the airport has more than 17,500 total spaces.
DIA said crews will be reconstructing shelter islands and curbs, installing new snow storage pads, updating drainage, and repaving and restriping the closed portion of the Pikes Peak lot.
The lot is expected to reopen in September after work is finished.
Any passenger whose vehicle is in the work zones when work begins will have them towed to a vehicle depository within the lot, DIA said. Passengers whose vehicles are relocated need to call 303-342-4650 to get instructions on how to recover their vehicles.
