Temperatures will begin to warm with no rain or snow in the forecast into next week.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: Ed Greene
That strong low pressure system that brought snow and cold temperatures with blizzard-like conditions over the northeast plains, is finally – slowly – on the move to the east. That will help improve conditions across the state with winds and snow ending and clouds giving way to sunny skies over Denver and the east.
A high pressure ridge will then build into the region keeping us mostly sunny with moderate temperatures. As we move into the weekend a few weak systems may bring snow showers to the high country and slightly cooler temperatures – but still above normal – for Denver by Sunday. Weather should not impact any New Year’s Eve celebrations. Prepare for clear skies, with temperatures in the lower to middle 20s, around the countdown!
WEDNESDAY: Clouds giving way to sunny skies, high 44; clear skies tonight, low around 20.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny, high 45; mostly clear overnight, low 23.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and a little warmer, high 52; clear skies overnight, low 25.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, high 53; mostly clear overnight, low 26.
SUNDAY (NEW YEAR’S EVE): Partly cloudy and cooler, high around 47; mostly clear overnight, low 24.
MONDAY (NEW YEAR’S DAY): Mostly sunny, high around 50; partly cloudy overnight, low 25.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny, high 46; partly cloudy overnight, low 24.
