Eight to say it
In another season, Everton would have been home and dry in their fight to avoid the drop.
However, this term they have been docked eight points after being hit with two separate charges of Financial Fair Play violations.
The Toffees were initially dropped ten points for their first breach, which was later changed to six by the appeals panel.
However, they then had two more points docked for the latest assessment period.
That leaves them two points above Luton, but with two games in hand on the Hatters.
You red it right
Chelsea stars Nicolas Jackson and Moises Caicedo are both one yellow card away from a two-match ban.
Both have nine bookings so far this season and a tenth automatically triggers a two-game Premier League ban.
This will not, however, affect the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
But if a Chelsea player is given a red card, they will miss the Wembley clash with Man City as red cards count across all domestic competitions.
Would you boo-lieve it
Raheem Sterling has also been left out of the squad for tonight’s game.
The former Man City and Liverpool star has been far from a hit with the Stamford Bridge faithful.
And he even ended up being booed by some every time he touched the ball after missing a penalty against Leicester.
But Chelsea insist his poor form and poor reception from the fans is not the reason he won’t be playing tonight.
The club say Sterling called in sick on Friday after vomiting and has also been suffering back problems.
