United were awarded a penalty after Antony was caught by a late challenge by Enzo Fernandez.

Referee Chris Kavanagh missed the tackle at first, but after a VAR intervention, the spot-kick was awarded.

Fernandes stood up to take the penalty but his tame effort was saved by Robert Sanchez.

And fans have been left seething on social media.

One fan fumed: “Nah Bruno Fernandes needs to start packing his bag.

“He’s washed too. From the coach down to the players, everyone is useless.”

A second posted: “Pathetic penalty by Bruno, lol.

“Just set it down and put your boot through it, not this fricking look away hop step penalty.”

A third wrote: “Bruno needs to leave this club.”

A fourth commented: “Bruno leave my team, bring me Odegaard.”
