Gunns loaded
Arsenal reportedly had eight other names on their transfer wishlist before swooping to sign Kai Havertz.
The Athletic Football Podcast states that Havertz is highly-rated by everybody at his new club.
But Arteta and Gunners transfer chief Edu did have other targets in mind – including an England international.
It claims that Mason Mount, who also left Chelsea for Manchester United in a £60m move this summer, was one.
Experienced German star Ilkay Gundogan, who quit Manchester City to join Barcelona on a free transfer once his contract expired, was another.
Mohammed Kudus, the 23-year-old Ghana international, was also on the list – but ultimately joined West Ham.
And the other person on that list is a man they have held a long-term interest in. That player is Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, 26, who has 51 caps for Italy.

Xhaka fires shots at Zinchenko
Granit Xhaka took aim at former team-mate Oleksandr Zinchenko with a hilarious Instagram comment following Arsenal’s 6-0 win over Lens.
It was an impressive performance from the Gunners, with six different players scoring.
The Ukraine international later took to Instagram to share an image from the Emirates Stadium with a caption that read: “Let’s go for more @Arsenal.”
However, ex-Gunner Xhaka was quick to playfully taunt him about his lack of game time after he was withdrawn at half time.
Xhaka said: “Did you play?” Alongside a laughing emoji.
I’m becoming famous for a different reason…
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has said he is now just as recognised for his punditry career than his illustrious spells at Arsenal and Barcelona.
Titi works on CBS’ wildly successful coverage of the Champions League alongside Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

Havertz snubs Chelsea
Kai Havertz snubbed his former Chelsea team-mates when he named the best striker he has ever played with.
He told SportDaily that the best striker he played with wasn’t Romelu Lukaku or Olivier Giroud – it was in fact Gabriel Jesus!
After a difficult start to life in an Arsenal shirt – the midfielder has began to find some form with two goals in his last two games.
