AdventHealth Porter lost hot water and heat on Oct. 30 after a boiler system failure.
DENVER — AdventHealth Porter reopened for all acute and emergency clinical services Thursday morning.
Doors opened at 7 a.m., the hospital said in a release. Elective procedures will resume on Nov. 13.
Two permanent boilers and a temporary boiler have been operational for the last several days, the hospital said in a release. The hospital allowed time to test the boilers to ensure “optimal functionality,” according to the release. The system will provide redundancy for the hospital.
On Oct. 30, the hospital was forced to shut down services and evacuate patients and staff due to a failure of the boiler system. The hospital reported transferring 55 patients and discharging others.
Fewer than 15 patients were scheduled to be transferred back to AdventHealth Porter, according to the hospital. A majority of patients who were transferred last week have since been discharged home, the hospital said.
Porter partnered with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and other state agencies to ensure all quality and safety measures were met before reopening, the hospital said.
