Henry Lee Griffin III was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Joshua Robinson in 2022.
AURORA, Colo. — A man who shot another man to death in the parking lot of an Aurora sports bar was sentenced Thursday to life in prison.
Henry Lee Griffin III, 28, was accused of shooting a man outside Challengers Sports Bar at East Iliff Avenue and South Peoria Street just before 2 a.m. Aug. 14, 2022.
Aurora Police said there was a fight before the shooting and that the people involved had already left the scene when officers got there. About 10 minutes after getting the report about the shooting, officers learned that a man, later identified as Joshua Robinson, arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries.
Griffin was identified as a suspect in the case and was arrested three days after the shooting.
An Arapahoe County jury convicted Griffin of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder in October.
On Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison, court records show. He was also given 20 years on each of the attempted murder counts.
