United blow
Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their hopes of signing long-term target Joshua Zirkzee.
The Bologna forward was strongly linked with the Red Devils throughout last season.
However, Fabrizio Romano reports AC Milan are set to trigger his £34million release clause.
Talks over personal terms are also underway between Milan and Zirkzee’s representatives.
United blow
Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their hopes of signing Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.
According to Cesc Fabregas, his former team-mate is set to join AC Milan instead of the Red Devils.
Fabregas told the Planet Premier League podcast: “I know him, I played with him.
“Funnily enough I never heard about Man United, I heard that he was going to AC Milan because [manager, Paulo] Fonseca probably is going to go there from France and they know each other, so let’s see where he goes.
“But he’s a very dynamic and strong player, good on the ball, a modern type of player, aggressive, can jump, he’s box to box. I really like Fofana and I think he fits very well with the Premier League style.”
BREAKING: Maguire Euros doubt
Harry Maguire is reportedly at risk of missing Euro 2024 due to injury.
The Manchester United defender has been sidelined since April with a calf issue.
Maguire was included in Gareth Southgate’s 33-man provisional squad but did not feature against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Monday.
According to the Daily Mail, there are growing doubts he will be fit for the tournament, with England’s first match against Serbia on June 16.
Maguire & Shaw training
Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are set to train away from the rest of the England squad today.
The FA have confirmed the Manchester United pair are following individual programmes, along with Brighton’s Lewis Dunk.
Meanwhile, James Maddison and Curtis Jones have both left the camp after being informed they will not be part of the final 26-man squad.
As a result, 27 players will be involved ahead of the Three Lions’ clash with Iceland on Friday.
United’s Sesko proposal
Manchester United have approached Benjamin Sesko ahead of a potential summer transfer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have presented their project to the RB Leipzig forward.
Sesko has also received approaches from Arsenal and Chelsea, the report adds.
Meanwhile, he could still choose to stay in the Bundesliga for one more season.
United fail hijack
Manchester United have failed in a late bid to hijack Chelsea’s move for Tosin Adarabioyo.
The defender is set to join the Blues after they stole a march on Newcastle.
According to the Daily Mail, though, Chelsea had to fend off late interest from United to land the 26-year-old.
The report claims the Red Devils submitted a “concrete proposal” last weekend but were snubbed by Adarabioyo.
