Monday’s storm left some mountain locations with more than a foot of snow.

COLORADO, USA — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory for portions of the mountains in western Colorado.

In the mountains, some areas picked up well over a foot of snow overnight. That snow will continue this morning before fizzling out this afternoon. Any last flakes should be done by tonight, but not before a few more inches’ worth of accumulation in the mountains.

Significant snow accumulation is possible in most central and northern mountain areas, along with considerable blowing and drifting snow above timberline. As much as 18 inches of snow could fall in the higher elevations by Tuesday afternoon.

Here are some of the totals from the National Weather Service:

  • 1 mile north northwest of Cameron Pass – 33.6 inches
  • 1 mile west northwest of Loveland Pass – 16.8 inches
  • 5 miles west southwest of Grand Lake – 12.6 inches
  • 3 miles west northwest of Pingree Park – 12.6 inches
  • 10 miles north northeast of Silverthorne – 11.2 inches
  • 1 mile north northwest of Berthoud Pass – 11.2 inches

And some snow totals reported by ski areas that are still open:

  • Copper Mountain – 18.0 inches
  • Vail – 12.0 inches
  • Loveland – 10.0 inches
  • Winter Park – 10.0 inches
  • Steamboat – 9.0 inches
  • Breckenridge – 6.0 inches
  • Eldora – 6.0 inches
