1 killed in Highlands Ranch crash

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — A person died after a Wednesday morning auto-pedestrian crash in Highlands Ranch.

The crash happened near Highlands Ranch Parkway and Venneford Ranch Road, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office first tweeted about the crash at 7:16 a.m.

One lane of eastbound Highlands Ranch Parkway was closed at Venneford Ranch Road while investigators were on scene.

About 8:37 a.m., the sheriff’s office said it was investigating this as a fatal crash.
