Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said that three or four people were caught in the slide, including at least one person who suffered a leg injury.
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Emergency responders were working their way up to a group caught in an avalanche Saturday afternoon, the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said.
The slide along the southeast-facing bowl of Hagar Peak near Loveland Pass was reported around 10:30 a.m. by a friend of the group. The area is known as Dry Gulch, the Alpine Rescue Team said.

The sheriff’s office said three or four people in the group were partially buried before they self-extracted. At least one person suffered a leg injury, and they all lost their ski poles.
Alpine Rescue Team said it was working its way up to the group, and that they would exit around mile marker 216 on Interstate 70 near Loveland Pass.
