The man was involved in a crash around 1 a.m. then made his way inside the courthouse, police said.
DENVER — A man has been taken into custody after police said he made his way inside the Colorado Supreme Court building early Tuesday morning.
At about 1:11 a.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Broadway for a vehicle crash. According to police, the man involved in the crash made his way inside the Colorado Supreme Court building.
The man was armed and fired shots while inside the courthouse, according to police. Officers were able to take the man into custody at about 3:13 a.m.
The Denver Fire Department also responded to a fire inside the building. The fire was contained by the building’s sprinkler system and did not spread to other parts of the building, according to Denver Fire.
