The Republican lawmaker currently represents the third congressional district.

DENVER — Republican Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert announced Wednesday that she will seek to represent a different district in her pursuit of a third term.

Boebert said in a video shared on Facebook that she will run for Colorado’s fourth congressional district in 2024.

“It’s the right move for me personally, and it’s the right decision for those who support our conservative movement. This is the right move for Colorado, for us,” she said.

Boebert currently represents the Republican-leaning third congressional district, which encompasses most of the Western Slope and parts of southern Colorado, including Pueblo County and the San Luis Valley. The heavily Republican fourth congressional district covers Weld County, Douglas County and all of eastern Colorado.

The fourth congressional district is currently represented by Republican Ken Buck, who is retiring.

Boebert narrowly won re-election in 2022, defeating Democratic challenger Adam Frisch by just 546 votes. Frisch has out-fundraised Boebert in his second attempt at representing the third district, hauling in four times as much money as the incumbent in the third quarter of 2023.
