Decreasing winds and very cold temperatures tonight as our latest Fall storm tracks east.
DENVER — FORECAST BY: Meteorologist Keely Chalmers
TODAY AT A GLANCE: Sunshine today, but that won’t warm us up as cool air aloft remains in place over Colorado for another day keeping highs in the 50s. Gusty winds over eastern Colorado continue this afternoon. Expect winds to diminish tonight.
The cool air and clear skies overnight may give lower elevations and the greater Denver metro area the first freeze of the season. A Freeze Warning has been issued for those areas from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
It will be chilly tomorrow morning for those heading outdoors to watch the solar eclipse. There may be a few clouds around at 10:30am, but we are expecting mostly sunny skies during the “Ring of Fire’s” peak viewing time.
Then we will begin a warming trend with dry conditions through Tuesday when the high temperature in Denver could warm to 80 degrees.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, cool and windy, high 56; mostly clear, breezy and cold tonight, low near 30.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and not quite as cool, high around 60; mostly clear overnight, low 36.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and warmer, high around 70; mostly clear overnight, low 41.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and mild, high 72; mostly clear overnight, low 43.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny and warm, high 79; clear skies overnight, low 45.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy and cooler with isolated showers, high 65; mostly cloudy overnight with isolated showers, low 39.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy and cool, high around 60; mostly clear overnight, low 38.
