The Denver Fire Department said the fire in Green Valley Ranch prompted a two-alarm response.

DENVER — Two firefighters were injured while responding to a two-alarm house fire in Denver Wednesday night.

The Denver Fire Department posted on social media just before 10 p.m. Wednesday that they were responding to a basement fire at a home near 53rd Avenue and Orleans Street in Green Valley Ranch.

The fire prompted a two-alarm response, the fire department said, and they managed to get it under control. Denver Fire said firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke when attacking the fire.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital. One civilian was evaluated at the scene but was not hospitalized.
