Edited video falsely claims Walz spoke out against Harris

On Oct. 14, vice presidential candidate Tim Walz campaigned in Green Bay, Wisconsin. 

Afterwards, Trump’s campaign posted a clip from the speech of Walz saying “Look, you all know it. We can’t have four more years of this. We won’t have four more years of it. We won’t.” The caption with the X post suggests Walz was referring to “the past four years” under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. 

Benny Johnson, a conservative commentator, shared the clip and wrote, “In a stunning move, Tim Walz comes out against the Biden/Harris administration ‘We can’t have four more years of this!’” His post has over a million views.

The video of Tim Walz at an Oct. 14 campaign rally in Green Bay is real, but it’s been trimmed and shared out of context. Walz was referring to “four more years” of Trump.

This is Walz’s full statement, and the portion in bold is what was included in the viral clip:

“And so Trump promised he would stop offshoring. His tax bill created incentives for companies to do this. Then he cut taxes for billionaires and corporations during his presidency and 200,000 American jobs went overseas. So their revisionist history is a bunch of crap. It did not happen. They undermined us. Look, you all know it. We can’t have four more years of this. We won’t have four more years of it. We won’t,” Walz says.
