NOCO Humane plans to open its Greeley Adoption Campus in 2025.

GREELEY, Colo. — A new animal adoption center is coming to northern Colorado.

NOCO Humane announced its plans for the NOCO Humane Greeley Adoption Campus on Wednesday. The campus, located near the corner of 65th Avenue and Highway 34, will operate solely as an adoption facility, aiming to help the shelter increase its overall capacity to care for and rehome animals.

The new campus will focus on housing adoptable animals and giving a more intimate experience for families looking to adopt. It will feature 30 kennels for dogs, 60 enclosures for cats, a space to house small mammals and several dedicated meet-and-greet areas.

“We have so many different interactions taking place. A lot of different animals coming and going in one small space. The difference in an emotional situation between someone having to surrender an animal or someone searching for a lost pet and someone who’s going home with a new family member is very different, and it’s difficult to have both of those interactions happening in a really tight space,” said Amanda Meyers, the director of development and community relations for NOCO Humane.

The opening of the adoption campus comes after NOCO Humane saw a 57% increase in the number of animals coming through its shelter doors in Weld County.

Adoption services will still be available at both the Larimer and Weld Campuses. A plan is still in the works to build a larger state-of-the-art facility in Weld County.

“The pets and people of Weld County deserve a first-rate shelter with comprehensive animal welfare services, and we intend to do everything in our power to make that a reality. The Greeley Adoption Campus is an important step in the right direction” said Judy Calhoun, NOCO Humane CEO.

The Greeley Adoption Campus is currently under renovation and will open to the public in 2025.
