BARCELONA are eyeing a transfer move for Liverpool star Luis Diaz, reports suggest.
But with both clubs facing financial fair play challenges (FFP) a stunning swap deal could also be on the cards.
Diaz, 27, has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou and the lifelong Barca fan could soon make that dream move a reality.
It comes after it was revealed the Reds, who initially set a €75million (£64m) price tag on the Colombian, could lower their asking price for him to €60m (£51m).
Spanish reporter Pipe Sierra has said that Barcelona have reopened talks with Liverpool to sign the winger, who is said to have a release clause of €58m (£50m).
He adds they will use transfer funds originally intended for Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams to strike the deal.
However, he adds there is a stunning possibility of the two clubs striking a stunning swap deal in order to ensure there are no FFP issues.
What players this could include from the Blaugrana’s point of view remains to be seen.
Although reports in June suggested the entire squad was up for sale other than so-called untouchables; Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Fermin Lopez and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

This could lead them to eyeing long-term Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong, though his massive wages could be a problem for the Anfield outfit who have previously been unwilling to break their wage structure.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37m, potentially rising to £49m.
He has scored 24 goals and added 13 assists in 98 games for Liverpool in all competitions.
