JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a mandatory evacuation order due to a wildfire burning near Deer Creek Canyon southwest of Denver.
The evacuation order is in effect for the Deer Creek Mesa area and the West Sampson Road area, the sheriff’s office said.

The fire has burned about four acres along Deer Creek Canyon Road just west of Grizzly Drive. Firefighters from multiple agencies are responding. It was first reported around 9 p.m.
