The Colorado native stars in the two-part movie adaptation of “Wicked,” the first of which arrives in theaters Nov. 22.

LOS ANGELES — Bowen Yang has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

The nomination, announced Wednesday, is the fourth Yang has received for his work on “Saturday Night Live.”

The Colorado native previously was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2021. He also received a Emmy nomination in 2019 for his writing work on “SNL.”

In addition to returning to the long-running sketch comedy series, which is celebrating its 50th season on NBC this fall, Yang, a graduate of Aurora’s Smoky Hill High School, will also be seen on the big screen this Thanksgiving.

Yang has filmed a role in the two-part movie adaptation of “Wicked,” the first of which arrives in theaters Nov. 22. The second movie is scheduled for Thanksgiving 2025.

The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will air on ABC.

The Emmy nominees were announced six months after the last Emmy Awards, which were delayed by last year’s writers and actors strikes.
